A flexible N-EUPEX DS Pin Coupling, compensating misalignment and ensuring safe, efficient power transmission.
The N-EUPEX DS Pin Coupling is a high-performance flexible shaft coupling, specifically engineered for reliable power transmission across various industrial applications. As a non-fail-safe, overload-shedding component, it is designed to disconnect the driver and driven machines when elastomer flexibles are damaged by overload or wear, ensuring equipment safety and preventing further damage
Constructed on a modular principle with a simple, robust design, the coupling consists of two coupling halves connected by elastomer flexibles, which conduct torque and provide damping properties[1[
Certified to comply with the ATEX directive, it is suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, expanding its application scope to industries like oil and gas, chemical, and pharmaceutical[1[7]. Common applications include pump drives, ventilator drives, crane running gear, and connecting motors to gear unit input shafts, especially for drives with uniform to average dynamic loads[1[6]. It also works well as an add-on coupling for fluid couplings or safety couplings, and is suitable for diesel engine drives with low mass moment of inertia[1[6].
Key benefits include easy maintenance—some variants allow elastomer replacement without moving coupled machines—and readily available stock parts[1[6]. Its torsional flexibility absorbs impacts and vibrations, while the non-fail-safe design ensures positive disconnection upon elastomer failure, protecting costly equipment
N-EUPEX DS® couplings do not have a fail-safe device, allowing positive disconnection of the input and output side upon failure of the flexible elements due to overload or wear. Then, the metal parts of the DS coupling can rotate freely in opposite directions.
Original FLENDER® elastomers ensure the optimal operation of your system. The flexible elements in the N-EUPEX DS series are subject to compression and bending forces. If the flexible elements are irreparably damaged, the metal parts turn against one another without contact, and the power transmission is separated. Fitting new flexible elements will make the coupling usable once more.
